A workshop
on Service Oriented Policing organized by Police Force of Kachin State took
place in Myintkyina with the opening speech by Kachin State Chief Minister Dr. Khet
Aung on Friday 13 May.
In his
speech, Dr. Khet Aung said that Police are giving public service and taking
security duty of people, and police force, in implementing of their duties, also
will be in need of cooperation of public in line with the rules and regulations.
To effectively carry out the 100-day plan for public security, rule of law,
crime suppression, police need harmonious participation of people governmental
personnel.
Deputy
Police Chief Brig-Gen Thein Oo elaborated the aims of the police procedures: understanding
the theories of service oriented policing method and practices; effectively and
successfully carrying out the tasks in practice; being possessed with the good
characteristics of police; the main or major tasks and basic policies of police
procedures; service oriented policing; characteristics of service oriented
policing; measuring the development of police procedures; basic principles of
police procedures; the role of police forces; the facts which police are
abiding by in implementing the basic policies;
and
responsibilities, accountabilities and transparency of police forces.
State police
commander of Kachin State Police Force Police Col Maung Soe explained public
security, rule of law and reducing the crimes, and he responded to the
queries raised by the attendees. A total
of 250 departmental personnel attended the ceremony.—GNLM

A WORKSHOP on service-oriented policing organised by Police
Force of Kachin State took place in Myintkyina, with the opening speech given
by Kachin State Chief Minister Dr Khet Aung on Friday, 13 May.
In his speech, Dr Khet Aung said police
provide a public service and provide security for the people, and police force,
in carrying out their duties, will need the cooperation of public in line with
rules and regulations. To effectively carry out the new government’s 100-day
plan for public security, rule of law and crime suppression, police need harmonious
participation of people and governmental personnel.

Oo listed the aims of police procedures: understanding theories of service-oriented
policing methods and practices; effectively and successfully carrying out tasks
in practice; possessing the appropriate characteristics of police; carrying out
basic policies of police procedures; measuring the development of police
procedures; and offering transparency to the public.
Commander of the Kachin State
Police Force Police Col Maung Soe explained public security, therule of law and
crime reduction strategies, and he responded to queries raised by attendees at
the workshop. A total of 250 departmental personnel attended the event.—GLNM
