Hailing the Union Peace Conference in Taungoo

THE Hailing Ceremony of the Union Peace Conference was held at the Sport Ground of Taungoo District on Friday.
Peace supporters marched to the sport ground in three columns holding placards which read “For Building Durable (Sustainable) Peace”, “Peace and Democracy” and “To end conflicts at long-last”.
 U San Hla, who presided the hailing ceremony over the Union Peace Conference, gave an opening speech, and Dr. Daw Mar Mar Wai, a retired Professor of the Myanmar Department of Taungoo University, proposed his support of matters related to the Peace Conference. Author U Pwint Thu Aung seconded the proposals made by Dr. Mar Mar Wai.
 Present at the ceremony were Departmental officials, members of the Maternal and Child Warfare Association, members of the Myanmar Women’s Affairs Association, National Races, teachers and students, trainees of the University of Nursing and local people.—Shwe Win (Pyay)
