 Advanced and Basic Navigation Courses held for youths (group 1/2016)








THE Gathering Ceremony of Trainees from all camps of the Navigation Advanced Course and Navigation Basic Course for youths (group 1 for 2016) was held at the Bayintnaung accommodation camp in Yangon on Monday.
Following the gathering ceremony, the trainees and trainers studied warships of the Myanmar Navy fleet sitting in dock at a navy jetty in Thanlyin Township. Officials gave educative talks on naval guns and other naval weapons and their operation, engines’ systems on board serving navy vessels, communication systems, general knowledge concerned with sea navigation and the operational processes that are followed while the warships are on active duty.
The trainees were taken on a tour of newly constructed warships and those that are undergoing repair in the dockyard after the Commander of the Headquarters of the Dockyard of the Myanmar Navy explained the history of the Myanmar Navy and common navy procedures to the trainees. --Myanmar Navy

 Russian naval fleet to visit Yangon, meet with MNR Navy, 

Chief Minister




 




A RUSSIAN naval fleet will arrive to Yangon and stay from 18 to 22 May for a five-day visit. The fleet previously visited Myanmar in November 2013 for the given reason of encouraging friendship between the two nations.
The fleet is comprising one Udaloy-class destroyer named the Admiral Vinogradov , a Sea Salvage Tug and an oil Tanker.
During the visit the Russia navy will conduct meetings with the Myanmar Navy, make a study trip in downtown Yangon, meet with the Yangon Chief Minister and hold an open day for the public to visit and study the Russian battle ship. —Myanmar Navy
