Gathering for novel “A Light Sweet Honey Dew on the Sharpen Edge of a Blade” by author Nyi Pu Lay
Authors, journalists and readers of books gathered at a ceremony celebrating the publication of “A Light Sweet Honey Dew on the Sharpen Edge of a Blade” by the well-known novelist Nyi Pu Lay at the Mandalay Community Center in Chanayethazan township on 1 October.
At the ceremony, author Soe Naing (Man Tekktho), and author Nay Win Myint, who is a National Literary Award winner, gave words of rejoicing, and the book’s author Nyi Pu Lay explained the publication of the above novel and spoke words of thanks to attendees and readers.  – Maung Pyi Thu (Mandalay)

MRFCCI organizes roundtable discussion on “Smart Idea for You”



Organised by the Mandalay Region Chamber of Commerce and Industry (MRCCI), a roundtable discussion on “Smart Idea for You” was held at the Mandalay National Theatre on Saturday 1 October. Chairman of MRCCI U Aung Than delivered an opening speech. The headmaster of University of the Thai Chamber of Commerce (UTCC) of Thailand explained the MBA course jointly organised by MRCCI and UTCC. Economics Professor Dr. Aye Kyaw asked questions of the younger participants during the roundtable discussion. Profesor Dr. Aung Myint and Sartaung U Thein Tun and U Chit Tun Pe spoke on “Successful Business”, and the author and journalist U Kyaw Yin Myint spoke on “Youth and Education”.
At the evening session, vice chairman of MRCCI U Aung San Win (Aung Thamadi) gave a talk on “Launching Business without Capital” and Myanmar Academy Award winning actress Swe Zin Htaik asked questions of the attendees. — Thiha Ko Ko (Mandalay

52nd Myanmar Police Force Day held in Mandalay

A ceremony to mark the 52nd Myanmar Police Force Day was held at the hall of Mandalay Region Police Force headquarters on 1 October.
At the ceremony, Mandalay Region Chief Minister Dr. Zaw Myint Maung  formally made the opening speech followed by an address by Police Colonel Han Tun from Mandalay Region.
Dr. Zaw Myint Maung presented awards to the outstanding children of police officers who passed with distinction the 2016 matriculation examination. Colonel Myoe Min Aung, the Minister for Security and Border Affairs, presented prizes to outstanding police member athletes. The commander of the Mandalay Region Police Force gave certificates to outstanding personnel.
Present at the ceremony were Mandalay Region Chief Minister Dr. Zaw Myint Maung, Mandalay Mayor U Ye Lwin and members of Mandalay Region Government, No 3 Police security Force Commander Police Brigadier General Myint Toe, the commander of the Mandalay Region Police Force, the commanders of district and township police Forces and retired police members.—Thiha Ko Ko (Mandalay)
